Cancer Fighting
Foods
Information on research into foods that
fight cancer
Research into
cancer fighting foods has been almost non existent and even
today there is not a lot of information available. The
reason being, research is only carried out on something that
can return a profit. Our natural foods can't be patented so
even if they are found to be beneficial to a
cancer sufferer, nobody will carry out research if
there isn't a monetary reward to be gained.
To date this
limited information has been found on cancer
fighting foods.
Avocados; are rich in glutathione, a powerful
antioxidant that attacks free radicals.
Berries; are rich in antioxidants, thought to
have even more cancer preventing properties than other
fruits.
Brazil nuts; are high in selenium which
research has shown to be important for those with
prostrate cancer.
Broccoli; and other cruciferous vegetables have
the photochemical sulforaphane, believed to aid in
preventing some types of cancer.
Carrots; contain a lot of beta-carotene which
may help reduce a wide range of cancers.
Flax oil; is high in omega 3 fatty acid which
are thought to protect against colon cancer.
Garlic; has immune enhancing allium compounds
that appear to increase the activity of immune cells that
fight cancer. Onions also contain allium.
Grapefruit; and other citrus fruit contain
vitamin C, beta-carotene and folic acid and believed to
help prevent cancer by removing carcinogens from
the body.
Grapes; red grapes contain resveratrol which
inhibits the enzymes that can stimulate cancer cell
growth.
Nuts; contain the antioxidants quercetin and
campferol that may suppress the growth of cancer
Tapioca; is derived from the cassava plant and
is one of the many plants that manufactures cyanide
for its protection against predators and diseases. (You
will find reference to this under laetrile, in the book,
which also contains the compound cyanide.
Tomatoes; contain lycopene, an antioxidant
which attacks free radicals, and are said to be a
prostrates best friend.
Turmeric; a member of the ginger family has
many medicinal properties. Its active ingredient is
curcumin and it possesses numerous anti-cancer
properties.
Notice the caution used with most of these statements on
cancer fighting foods. It’s because scientists are just
beginning to research the properties within these natural
foods.
A human being' s natural food is fresh fruit and
vegetables which are the foundation of our health. How can
any health professional state that there's no connection
between cancer and food? It’s criminal.
